Base Salary
$102k - $166k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a multi-level hardware virtual machine that emulates QuEra’s domain-specific language for pulse-level programs and its compilation stack.
- Support integration into the control stack.
- Collaborate with quantum error-correction scientists and the hardware-control team to plan and simulate hardware features required for executing quantum error-correction algorithms.
- Perform gate-level and atom-move hardware simulation with the scientific software team.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in computer science focused on quantum computation, architecture, programming languages, or compilers, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with bytecode interpreters and the CPython interpreter.
- Experience with modern C/C++ projects and related tooling.
- Experience with hardware emulation and virtual-machine development, especially for novel or heterogeneous architectures.
- Experience with compiler intermediate representations based on Static Single Assignment.
- Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including version control, code review, testing, CI/CD, logging, profiling, debugging, and documentation.
- Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in a relevant computer science focus or equivalent professional experience, Rust/C++/Julia experience, FPGA programming, quantum and AMO physics knowledge, quantum error correction knowledge, and contributions to open-source libraries.
