Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and field cloud architectures that meet system requirements and customer mission needs.
- Define use cases and requirements with internal and external customers and support system-level testing and deployment.
- Design large-scale distributed systems using microservices and containers.
- Create and maintain virtualized, containerized, and cloud-ready environments for software teams, including component updates and security maintenance.
- Provide hands-on technical assistance to individual contributors and R&D teams delivering awarded programs.
- Support business development through white papers, trade studies, rapid prototyping, and technical proposal responses.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in cloud, infrastructure as code, and DevSecOps and help improve enterprise solution delivery.
- Collaborate with security teams to define and implement security controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 10 years of related experience, or 16 years of software experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 5 years leading software teams delivering enterprise solutions involving RESTful web services, microservices, and/or cloud components is preferred.
- At least 3 years leveraging cloud service providers for cloud computing, containers, VPCs, infrastructure as code, and security groups is preferred.
- At least 3 years designing scalable infrastructure and automated cloud deployment pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes is preferred.
- Experience with Python, Bash, or other shell scripting languages is preferred.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, MariaDB, InfluxDB, and EnterpriseDB is preferred.
- Experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible is preferred.
- AWS Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps, or Kubernetes Administrator certifications are preferred.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain FAA public trust are required; some positions may require a security clearance.
