Responsibilities
- Design, code, and launch backend features and services that improve restaurant partners’ operations and customer experiences.
- Identify high-impact technical opportunities and develop creative, scalable solutions.
- Own initiatives end-to-end from concept through production, working with product, design, and other teams.
- Use Python with Flask as the primary stack while selecting other technologies such as Go or Ruby when appropriate.
- Collaborate with a distributed team of backend engineers across the US, UK, and Europe through code reviews, brainstorming, and asynchronous communication.
- Maintain reliability and performance through coding best practices, unit testing, monitoring, logging, alerting, and DevOps practices.
Requirements
- Experience building scalable backend systems with Python and Flask.
- Experience working with databases and cloud services.
- Comfort with monitoring and logging tools and maintaining production system health.
- Ability to learn and use additional languages or frameworks such as Go and Ruby.
- Strong ownership, initiative, product focus, problem-solving ability, and communication skills in a distributed environment.
