Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve production machine learning models for pricing, automated quoting, cost estimation, demand forecasting, and partner routing.
- Design and scale reliable machine learning training and inference pipelines on AWS.
- Build workflows for experimentation, model training, validation, deployment, versioning, and experiment tracking.
- Evaluate model performance using offline experiments, A/B testing, and backtesting.
- Monitor production models for drift, degradation, and unexpected behavior, and support alerting, retraining, and reliability workflows.
- Engineer features from order history, partner capacity, part geometry, and other marketplace inputs.
- Collaborate with engineering, data, product, and domain teams to solve complex marketplace and manufacturing problems.
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers and share machine learning engineering practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
- Strong coding skills in Python or a similar programming language.
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or comparable machine learning frameworks.
- Understanding of supervised and probabilistic modeling, including regression, classification, and uncertainty estimation.
- Experience with feature engineering from structured or geometric data.
- Experience with machine learning pipelines, model versioning, experiment tracking, and MLOps tools such as Weights & Biases, Prefect, or Karpenter.
- Experience designing and scaling production ML infrastructure and building monitoring, alerting, and retraining workflows.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally and explaining complex machine learning concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
- Preferred qualifications include marketplace or pricing modeling, operations research, econometrics, supply chain optimization, and work with 3D or geometric data such as CAD, point clouds, or mesh processing.
