Base Salary
$135k - $216k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize generative AI solutions using GPT, Claude, Gemini, Azure OpenAI, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and RAG.
- Implement agentic LLM architectures, structured outputs, chain-of-thought and chain-of-debate methods, and multi-agent orchestration.
- Build and maintain prompt libraries, evaluation frameworks, and QA pipelines for defense-grade AI content.
- Integrate generative AI into existing platforms through documented APIs for interoperability with DoD systems.
- Research multimodal models, synthetic data generation, and AI-assisted analysis techniques for information operations.
- Translate COCOM operational requirements into deployable AI solutions and support TTX events and platform demonstrations.
- Implement responsible AI practices including bias detection, validation, hallucination mitigation, prompt-injection protection, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Support MVP milestones, technology-readiness progression, ROI measurement, and documentation of novel prompting techniques and model configurations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field and at least 5 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may substitute for the degree.
- At least 3 years of software development or data science experience, including 2 or more years focused on generative AI, LLMs, or NLP.
- Hands-on experience with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Mistral, prompt engineering, few-shot learning, fine-tuning, and API integration.
- Strong Python skills and experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, and OpenAI or Anthropic APIs.
- Experience building RAG systems with Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB, or pgvector.
- AWS and Azure cloud experience and experience deploying AI/ML models in production.
- Knowledge of AI safety, hallucination mitigation, bias reduction, and prompt-injection protection.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a final Top Secret/SCI with Poly security clearance.
- Current, valid U.S. passport for potential OCONUS travel.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, agentic AI and multi-agent workflow experience, fine-tuning methods such as RLHF, DPO, LoRA, and QLoRA, multimodal models, defense or intelligence applications, MLOps, A/B testing, LLM evaluation frameworks, synthetic data, simulation, geospatial formats, visualization tools, operational platforms, and relevant cloud or AI certifications.
