Base Salary
$164k - $212k/yr
Responsibilities
- Conduct original research in operating systems, kernels, file systems, and networking to improve performance and dependability.
- Design, implement, or rearchitect system components to meet performance and safety goals.
- Define long-term systems software architecture and roadmaps for the smart electric vehicle domain.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy research outcomes in real-world production systems.
- Optimize systems from high-level architecture through low-level implementation and assembly instructions.
Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Research experience in operating systems, virtualization, and system security.
- In-depth knowledge of computer architecture and expertise in at least one of x86, Arm, or RISC-V.
- Proficiency in C, assembly, and Rust.
- Ability to understand, organize, improve, diagnose, and solve issues in complex systems software.
- Ability to conduct independent research and collaborate effectively.
- Preferred: Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidacy with expected graduation within 6–12 months.
- Preferred: publications in systems conferences such as SOSP, OSDI, EuroSys, DSN, or ASPLOS.
- Preferred: experience building kernels, operating systems, hypervisors, file systems, or network stacks from scratch.
- Preferred: hands-on microkernel and multiserver operating system experience.
- Preferred: familiarity with formal verification methods.
