Responsibilities
- Own and define system-level architecture across firmware, IoT, mobile, web, backend services, data, and cloud infrastructure.
- Provide architectural leadership for major initiatives, long-term platform roadmaps, and technical strategy.
- Partner with engineering leads, product, firmware, mobile, and cloud teams to create cohesive and scalable system designs.
- Lead architectural reviews and ensure designs meet performance, availability, security, and maintainability requirements.
- Guide implementation and remain hands-on when needed to resolve critical architectural challenges.
- Establish best practices for system design, documentation, observability, production readiness, monitoring, incident response, and reliability.
- Ensure high availability, low latency, and scalability across distributed systems and services.
- Advise engineering leadership and coordinate internal teams to support integration across existing and new systems, platforms, and technologies.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing and delivering large-scale software systems across multiple layers of the stack.
- Strong understanding of system architecture spanning firmware, IoT, mobile applications, web applications, backend services, and cloud platforms.
- Experience architecting and integrating RESTful and event-driven APIs in distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures, messaging or streaming systems, data stores, and infrastructure as code.
- Working knowledge of IoT architectures, device communication, edge considerations, and cloud integration.
- Experience guiding teams through the full development lifecycle from architecture and design through development, deployment, and production.
- Ability to translate business and product requirements into scalable and resilient system designs.
- Ability to work across multiple technology domains and provide technical leadership.
