Base Salary
$108k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and architect embedded and airborne system software across integrated subsystems and distributed networks.
- Implement, integrate, test, troubleshoot, debug, and conduct peer reviews for embedded software systems.
- Perform software requirements analysis, hardware compatibility analysis, and full software development life cycle activities.
- Develop tools, harnesses, infrastructure, and software products supporting integrated solutions, platform design, and system maintenance.
- Recommend and implement technologies, tools, standards, workflows, and AI-enabled development capabilities.
- Lead and mentor team members while contributing to complex project delivery and technical strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- At least 8 years of relevant technical experience, or 6 years with a related master’s degree.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
- Relevant experience developing, integrating, testing, or troubleshooting embedded software or embedded-adjacent applications.
- Expert-level proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
- Experience with RTOS platforms such as VxWorks, Integrity, or FreeRTOS; embedded processors and microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex or RISC-V; and embedded debugging tools.
- Experience with modern software development practices including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and test automation.
- Preferred qualifications include 5+ years in real-time embedded systems for defense, aerospace, or safety-critical platforms; guided weapons or flight controls experience; and large-scale deterministic embedded systems experience.
- Preferred experience includes Docker, Kubernetes, MBSE, software safety standards such as DO-178C and MIL-STD-882e, Jira, Git, and GitLab.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, independent-working, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
