Base Salary
$213k - $263k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design, implementation, and scaling of real-time communication infrastructure and onboard networking systems.
- Design and build reliable, low-latency transport protocols and communication systems for dynamic wireless environments.
- Optimize network performance, data transmission efficiency, and traffic prioritization between vehicle fleets and cloud services.
- Partner with onboard vehicle systems, cloud platform, and fleet operations teams on mission-critical data exchange.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and promote reliability, concurrency, and performance best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience using C++ within Linux environments.
- At least 3 years of experience designing, building, and operating low-latency network protocols, communication systems, or distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in systems and network programming, multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous I/O.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and experience delivering complex systems to production.
- Preferred: MS or Ph.D. in a related technical field.
- Preferred: experience with LTE/5G, multi-link bonding, mobile networking protocols, Linux networking internals, socket programming, traffic management, QUIC, WebRTC, Envoy, embedded Linux, automotive platforms, robotics, autonomous vehicles, performance profiling, network optimization, or system resilience.
- Location in or willingness to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area is preferred.
