Responsibilities
- Lead architecture across multiple products and platforms and resolve the organization’s most complex technical assignments.
- Mentor and coach architects and senior engineers while aligning architecture and engineering audiences around shared direction.
- Provide architectural oversight, design reviews, scalability guidance, and architecture roadmaps across product lines.
- Drive compliance with and evolution of enterprise architectural standards.
- Plan and direct cross-product initiatives in partnership with project managers.
- Research emerging technologies, design patterns, and products and determine their strategic applicability.
- Set organizational standards for AI/ML and cloud-native architecture across multiple product lines.
- Define architecture for authentication and authorization of non-human payment initiators and agent-initiated payment standards.
- Establish safe governance for AI coding and development agents throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Work directly with customers to translate innovative ideas and needs into long-term technical strategy.
- Contribute to staff selection, performance reviews, resource planning, capital budget decisions, and enterprise architecture direction.
Requirements
- 15+ years of related experience, including deep technical product architecture and/or product development experience.
- Deep experience with architectural modeling using UML or equivalent and applying design patterns to real engineering problems.
- Extensive cross-product SaaS and cloud-native architecture experience, including secure multi-cloud solutions.
- Strong systems thinking, architectural judgment, and ability to make final cross-product trade-off decisions.
- Deep experience with data architecture, governance, and regulatory reporting design.
- Strong implementation-grounded perspective on enterprise AI/ML architecture and safe AI or agentic tooling in the software development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated success mentoring and growing architects and senior engineers and aligning technical communities.
- Outstanding communication skills with engineering leaders, product leaders, and customers.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.
- Bonus qualifications include payments or regulated-industry experience, enterprise reference architecture work, standards or open-source contributions, technical staff evaluation, technical enablement programs, agent-initiated payment protocols, agent identity and consent frameworks, or FinOps architecture.
