Base Salary
$210k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the Signals video and streaming backend end to end.
- Lead vendor knowledge transfer covering video pipeline architecture and operations.
- Partner with the Video UI frontend team on the end-to-end streaming experience.
- Partner with the ML/CV team on model serving for ICM 2.0.
- Establish SLOs, on-call rotation, and cost optimization for the video pipeline.
- Take the media backend from third-party vendor ownership into internal ownership.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience, including staff-level architectural ownership.
- Deep experience with video streaming systems such as WebRTC, HLS, RTMP, or similar technologies.
- Experience building and operating high-throughput real-time systems at scale.
- Strong distributed systems fundamentals.
- Production ownership of media pipelines.
- Security or surveillance video pipeline experience is preferred.
- Experience with edge-to-cloud video ingest and processing architectures is preferred.
- Prior experience insourcing a media backend from a third party is preferred.
