Responsibilities
- Lead the quality engineering practice across the Platform function and embed testing throughout delivery.
- Define scalable verification approaches and own test strategy across new and legacy work.
- Extend testing beyond functional and regression coverage to performance, accessibility, and resilience.
- Partner with product, business, and engineering stakeholders to define quality expectations for initiatives.
- Represent Platform in the QA Guild and cascade guild standards and decisions across Platform teams.
- Implement security and quality scanning across the delivery pipeline.
- Evaluate and select testing tools and frameworks as the quality landscape evolves.
- Use production defect and incident learnings to improve test strategy.
- Recruit, coach, and mentor QA engineers, including embedded and partner-augmented roles.
- Drive a culture of quality and influence engineering standards across Platform.
Requirements
- Experience defining QA strategy from the ground up and improving existing quality practices.
- Experience leading and growing a QA function, including hands-on recruitment.
- Experience managing direct and dotted-line reporting structures.
- Experience addressing verification challenges specific to AI-assisted development.
- Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD, source control, and engineering metrics tooling.
- Familiarity with DORA quality metrics and Team Topologies team design is advantageous.
- A recognised testing certification such as ISTQB or equivalent practical experience is advantageous.
- Strong passion for delivering high-quality software.
