Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain firmware for embedded systems used in battery energy storage systems.
- Write clean, efficient, and documented C/C++ code for microcontrollers and embedded processors.
- Implement CAN, Modbus, and Ethernet communication protocols between battery energy storage system components.
- Develop battery management control algorithms for cell balancing, state estimation, and fault detection.
- Define hardware-software interfaces and collaborate with hardware and power electronics engineers on integration.
- Perform firmware testing and debugging, including unit testing, integration testing, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Keep current with embedded systems and firmware development advances and improve firmware development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of embedded firmware development experience, preferably in renewable energy or automotive industries.
- Experience developing safety-critical software and understanding relevant standards including ASIL.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills and deep knowledge of embedded systems.
- Experience with CAN, Modbus, Ethernet, and real-time operating systems.
- Familiarity with microcontroller architectures such as ARM and related development tools.
- Experience with JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
