Responsibilities
- Build full-stack web applications for production planning, work assignment, and real-time factory execution dashboards.
- Develop offline-capable, mobile-friendly, touch-optimized interfaces for factory operators working in constrained or intermittent network environments.
- Own manufacturing software requirements end to end, including build-versus-extend decisions and deployment across Maritime factories.
- Implement offline-first architectures using service workers, local storage, background sync, and data synchronization with conflict resolution.
- Partner with manufacturing engineers, factory operators, backend and data engineers, factory systems teams, and operations.
- Write production-quality code, tests, participate in code reviews and architecture discussions, and operate systems in factory environments.
- Deploy and operate applications across edge compute clusters and OT networks while supporting high availability and reliability.
- Set technical direction and mentor junior engineers on resilient, user-centered manufacturing software.
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting production factory systems.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering roles building production systems.
- Deep expertise in full-stack web development across frontend and backend systems.
- Strong fluency in modern software architectures, APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD, and cloud or edge infrastructure.
- Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and modern web frameworks.
- Experience building offline-capable web applications using service workers, IndexedDB, local storage, and progressive web app patterns.
- Experience building reliable systems for high-availability, low-latency, constrained, or other real-world operational environments.
- Experience with large enterprise applications and platforms with high availability requirements.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
- Preferred experience in manufacturing, industrial, OT, MES, SCADA, PLC integration, factory automation, or IoT domains.
- Preferred experience with data synchronization, conflict resolution, eventual consistency, mobile-first industrial applications, and rugged-device UX/UI.
- Preferred familiarity with ERP, MES, WMS, manufacturing planning systems, edge computing, GraphQL, real-time data subscriptions, or WebSocket-based architectures.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Preferred experience with frontier AI tooling, AI coding assistants, AI-enabled development workflows, and startup-like environments.
