Responsibilities

  • Propose and prototype state-of-the-art machine learning solutions for real-world defense problems.
  • Develop and maintain core machine learning pipelines and infrastructure for data collection and training.
  • Train and deploy deep learning models for real-time applications.
  • Design and optimize multi-sensor object detection and perception models for edge devices.
  • Develop learning algorithms that optimize autonomous-system behavior.
  • Curate datasets and evaluate model performance trends over time.
  • Collaborate with camera, systems, and labeling teams.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior ML engineers.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Robotics, or Computer Science with an emphasis on Computer Vision, along with a BS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience developing, benchmarking, and optimizing machine learning algorithms on large-scale datasets.
  • Strong deep learning and computer vision background.
  • Proficiency in C++ development in a Linux environment and experience with Python.
  • Experience with PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, TensorRT, and ONNX.
  • Experience optimizing on-device inference and vision kernels across CPU, GPU, and NPU.
  • Track record of developing and deploying computer vision models from R&D to production.
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated continuous integration tests.
  • Knowledge of system profiling and tuning for latency, memory, and power efficiency.
  • Ability to conduct experiments, ablation studies, and detailed technical reporting.
  • Experience with computer vision capabilities such as object detection, object tracking, instance segmentation, semantic segmentation, semantic change detection, depth estimation, model pruning, and model compression is preferred.
  • Experience with visual odometry, SLAM, multi-view geometry, camera models, RGB-D, LiDAR sensor fusion, or optical flow is preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems is preferred.
  • One year of experience in a technical leadership role is preferred.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
