Responsibilities

  • Design and build connectors into third-party enterprise platforms, including authentication, data flow, event handling, and in-host verification experiences.
  • Build Nametag-side backend APIs, services, webhooks, and customer-facing console configuration and setup experiences.
  • Implement integrations across unfamiliar APIs and extensibility models, including OAuth, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM systems.
  • Handle rate limits, partial outages, vendor changes, undocumented behavior, versioning, and backwards compatibility.
  • Operate integrations in production and build observability to detect failures before customers do.
  • Take integrations through marketplace and app review processes.
  • Create shared infrastructure, tooling, scaffolding, and templates to accelerate future integrations.
  • Document integrations so support and solutions engineers can operate them independently.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience building and operating production software, including backend services and APIs.
  • Demonstrated production experience integrating with and owning third-party APIs.
  • Strong backend skills in Go, Node.js, Python, Java, or a similar language, plus enough frontend ability to build setup and configuration UI in React or a comparable framework.
  • Working knowledge of OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, webhooks, and their associated failure modes.
  • Experience with relational databases; PostgreSQL is preferred.
  • Cloud experience; AWS is preferred.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Breadth, pragmatism, patience with third-party documentation, verification-oriented judgment, clear communication, and effective remote collaboration.
  • Preferred experience with Workday, ServiceNow, Slack, Okta, Entra, ICIMS, or UKG extensibility.
  • Preferred experience shipping apps through marketplace or app review processes.
  • Experience with identity, authentication, account recovery, fraud prevention, compliance-heavy products, integration platforms, connector frameworks, solutions engineering, professional services, or customer-facing engineering is beneficial.
