Base Salary

$95k - $166k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop Linux software for high-performance computing hardware in space supporting machine learning and autonomy experiments.
  • Test custom electronics and board interfaces using protocols such as I2C, UART, and Ethernet.
  • Design, test, and debug embedded user-space Linux software for sensor data processing, potentially using machine learning models on a GPU.
  • Assist with software releases, deployments, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with subsystem leads to define software requirements and interfaces.
  • Develop software libraries and applications supporting satellite testing and operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 1 year of industry work experience for Member of Technical Staff; at least 4 years for Senior Member of Technical Staff.
  • Programming experience with Linux user-space programs or kernel drivers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
  • For the senior level, working knowledge of RTOS, embedded Linux development, resiliency and fault-tolerance techniques, and bus, data communication, and networking protocols.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s or Ph.D., familiarity with C, Python, Rust, Bash, electrical interfaces, embedded systems development, hardware debugging, containerization, PyTorch, and CUDA.
  • Experience with Docker, workload orchestration, containerization, geographically dispersed services, or multi-vendor service integration is also preferred.
