Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, test, and maintain software serving customer and internal needs.
- Work with software requirements from customers, application engineers, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers.
- Contribute to existing and new projects across multiple programming languages and scopes.
- Collaborate with applications and systems engineers to troubleshoot system failures and develop software remedies.
- Participate in code reviews for fellow team members.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software development experience with broad and deep expertise.
- Strong Java programming skills; Kotlin knowledge is strongly preferred.
- JavaFX or GUI development experience, including exposure to JavaScript or TypeScript, is strongly preferred.
- Ability to investigate and apply new technologies to improve the developer experience.
- Ability to develop creative software solutions, perform technical troubleshooting, and break down complex problems.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, behavior-driven development, and unit testing.
- Highly developed written and verbal cross-functional communication skills.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and GitLab is preferred.
- Basic electronics, microcontroller programming, and bus communications experience is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
