Base Salary
$186k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design, implementation, and operation of authentication, authorization, OAuth, session, token, two-factor authentication, account recovery, and edge authorization capabilities.
- Build secure, low-latency Go and gRPC services for web, mobile, API, and partner experiences.
- Lead technical designs involving signed authorization tokens, passkeys, biometric recovery, device-aware authentication, and mobile OAuth.
- Partner with product, security, fraud, and infrastructure teams to balance customer conversion, account protection, regulatory requirements, and engineering constraints.
- Build self-service tooling and simplified integration patterns for product teams.
- Mentor engineers and contribute through design reviews, pairing, code reviews, and on-call participation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend software engineering experience building and operating reliable, high-throughput distributed services in production.
- Strong proficiency in Go or a comparable systems-oriented language.
- Experience designing secure APIs and working with authentication, authorization, session management, trust boundaries, and token handling.
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JSON Web Tokens, PKCE, or related standards.
- Proficiency with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and data stores such as Redis or DynamoDB.
- Operational experience using metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and service-level objectives to run critical services.
- Track record of delivering complex cross-functional projects from technical design through production rollout.
- Strong written and verbal communication for aligning engineering, security, product, and infrastructure partners.
- Ability to use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
