Base Salary
$48k - $87k/yr
Responsibilities
- Modernize the ERAM air traffic control system by improving availability and performance.
- Develop and maintain FAA air traffic control software on UNIX/Linux platforms.
- Support upgrades to hardware, software, operating systems, firmware, security, and CAS.
- Perform hands-on laboratory testing on target hardware during software development.
- Develop productivity aids and automation tools.
- Consult with software leadership and systems engineering on solutions.
- Work with an ERAM software team while learning the technical environment and supporting personnel.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree.
- Demonstrated software development skills and capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to work across multiple software languages.
- Demonstrated ability to debug and solve problems.
- Strong desire to engage, learn, and improve technical capabilities.
- Preferred: technical organization work experience performing software engineering tasks.
- Preferred: familiarity with Python, Perl, Kornshell, Ada, C, C++, Unix command-line tools, editors, operating system concepts, and network concepts.
- Preferred: leadership and presentation skills and a successful record of working on group projects.
