Responsibilities
- Own the lifecycle of the Python SDK, including designing ergonomic APIs and implementing the client.
- Build and maintain a cross-platform CLI with a modern interface, helpful error messages, and strong user experience.
- Manage packaging and distribution pipelines, including reliable releases to PyPI.
- Develop and maintain internal developer tools related to DevOps.
- Create examples, templates, and guides that help developers use FriendliAI software bundles effectively.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and engineering teams on end-to-end workflows and developer experience.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional Python engineering experience building production libraries, SDKs, or developer tools.
- Demonstrated ownership of SDKs or CLIs, including familiarity with API ergonomics, versioning, deprecation policies, telemetry, and customer issue debugging.
- Strong Python fundamentals, including asyncio, typing, packaging, and testing.
- Fluency with REST and gRPC web APIs.
- Experience working with Python monorepos.
- Clear written communication and the ability to turn complex features into clean APIs and concise documentation.
- Preferred: maintenance or significant open-source contributions to Python libraries, tooling, SDKs, or CLIs.
- Preferred: experience with Python AST, metaprogramming, packaging, performance profiling, streaming, backpressure, or multi-platform builds.
- Preferred: exposure to TypeScript/Node.js or Go, Docker, Kubernetes, LLM or agent SDKs, and inference workflows.
