Base Salary
$150k - $299k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and operate distributed, event-driven systems processing high-volume, high-sensitivity financial data.
- Build typed production APIs and services in Python using FastAPI and Pydantic for agentic workflows, AI copilots, and real-time financial infrastructure.
- Own schema design, event models, ledger primitives, and storage layers optimized for auditability, traceability, and scale.
- Develop infrastructure primitives for queues, retries, idempotency, observability, and backpressure handling.
- Build feedback loops connecting product data, models, and system behavior.
- Create internal frameworks, SDKs, and tooling that improve engineering productivity.
- Partner with ML and product teams to productionize research-grade ideas.
- Help define the architecture of an AI-native financial technology stack.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend experience with Python at scale.
- Deep knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database design.
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or microservices.
- Familiarity with GCP services including Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and KMS.
- Strong understanding of security and compliance best practices.
- Ability and interest to build backend systems powering intelligent products.
