Responsibilities
- Own the availability and performance of production SaaS applications running on Azure across multiple geographic regions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AKS pod and node failures, deployment rollbacks, ingress and networking issues, and resource or autoscaling problems.
- Participate in weekend-inclusive on-call rotations and lead incident response from detection through resolution.
- Improve disaster recovery, failover, incident management, reliability, observability, and performance practices.
- Build and maintain automation scripts and monitoring tools to reduce manual operational work.
- Author post-incident reviews, identify root causes, and drive preventive actions to completion.
- Communicate incident status updates and written summaries to customer-facing stakeholders when required.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams on infrastructure, tooling, and process improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or cloud administration with ownership of production systems.
- Hands-on experience administering Azure environments, including AKS, core Azure services, cloud networking, and cloud security fundamentals.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, log analysis, stack traces, and Datadog APM.
- Understanding of firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, DNS, and routing.
- Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, or similar tools.
- Understanding of backup, redundancy, disaster recovery, geo-redundant deployments, and multi-region cloud environments.
- Strong ownership across the complete incident lifecycle and a customer-first approach.
- Clear and professional written communication for incident updates and post-incident summaries.
- AWS Cloud Platform experience is preferred.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Terraform, ARM templates, or regionally distributed SaaS tenant architectures is preferred.
