Base Salary
$286k - $392k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training, LLM inference, agents, multi-agent workflows, similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
- Architect and optimize large-scale production AI systems for scalability, cost, latency, throughput, accuracy, and hardware utilization.
- Define the technical vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems and integrate applied research into production ecosystems.
- Establish AI performance, safety, alignment, transparency, and governance standards across the company.
- Drive multi-year initiatives unifying data, compute, and model lifecycle management under an enterprise AI architecture.
- Lead and mentor technical leaders across research, data, and engineering disciplines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus at least 10 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a master’s degree in one of those fields plus at least 8 years of experience.
- At least 10 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
- Experience architecting AI platforms and making tradeoffs involving cost, latency, throughput, accuracy, and scalability.
- Preferred experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud platforms.
- Experience developing AI and ML technologies such as LLM inference, similarity search, VectorDBs, guardrails, and memory using Python, C++, C#, Java, CUDA, or Golang.
- Experience optimizing training and inference software, building agentic AI systems and workflows, and right-sizing models, instances, and hardware.
- Ability to lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, influence stakeholders through the SVP level, and communicate complex AI concepts.
- Recognized industry leadership in applied AI or machine learning infrastructure through patents, publications, or open-source leadership.
- Experience shaping AI infrastructure strategy, AI safety and governance adoption, regulatory collaboration, and R&D investment strategy.
