Base Salary
$160k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build models of machine devices such as motion axes, sensors, grippers, and surrounding machinery behind the same software interfaces as the real hardware.
- Build scenario and regression suites so machine software can be developed and tested in CI without hardware in the loop.
- Extend simulation coverage across machine types.
- Build validation tooling that compares simulation behavior with real-machine telemetry.
- Root-cause divergences as software bugs or model-fidelity gaps.
- Grow toward owning a bounded platform area such as the device-model library or CI simulation harness.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience building software for systems interacting with hardware or the physical world, including qualifying industry, internship, competition, research, or open-source work.
- Strong programming fundamentals and working Python experience building and debugging real systems.
- Experience with physics simulation, behavioral or discrete-event simulation, digital twins, or game-engine work.
- Practical understanding of state machines, concurrency, and determinism.
- Systematic debugging and collaboration skills across the software/hardware boundary.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or robotics, or equivalent experience.
- Working C++ is expected at L4 and a strong plus at L3.
- Experience with physics engines such as MuJoCo, Drake, Bullet, or PyBullet is a bonus.
- Robotics knowledge in kinematics, dynamics, motion planning, or state estimation is a bonus.
- Experience with ROS or other robotics middleware, gRPC/Protobuf APIs, observability tooling, CI/test infrastructure at scale, or hardware-in-the-loop testing is a bonus.
