Responsibilities
- Spend two to four weeks performing the customer’s operational role and develop working fluency in unfamiliar business domains.
- Redesign business functions from first principles with operators and Forward Deployed Executives.
- Ship production GenAI systems, including LLM applications, agentic workflows, retrieval and structured-extraction pipelines, backend services, and data pipelines.
- Build evaluation harnesses, define success metrics, instrument systems, and use evaluations to drive design.
- Write production code across the stack, primarily using Python and TypeScript.
- Deploy maintainable, observable, containerized systems on AWS or other required cloud platforms.
- Feed lessons from customer engagements back into Provectus industry blueprints.
- Drive adoption, shape commitments before delivery, and own measurable business outcomes with the customer.
- Communicate effectively with customer operators, engineers, executives, business-unit leaders, and CTOs.
Requirements
- 8+ years building software, including substantial accountability for production code.
- Current hands-on engineering practice and willingness to spend weeks performing a customer’s operational work before coding.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar business domains quickly and engage credibly with domain experts.
- Experience shipping production GenAI or LLM systems, including handling post-prototype operational challenges.
- Experience building or owning evaluation suites for non-deterministic systems.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
- Cloud-native delivery experience on AWS, including containers, Kubernetes or ECS, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and production operations.
- Ability to hold redesign and scoping conversations with senior business and technical stakeholders.
- Solid AI/ML foundations and ability to reason about model failure modes.
- Strong hands-on production experience with Claude Code and Cowork.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Preferred experience as a founder, CTO, or engineering leader who returned to individual contribution.
- Preferred depth in financial services, insurance, healthcare, or asset management.
- Preferred consulting, professional services, or embedded customer-facing delivery experience.
- Preferred data-platform experience with data lakes, warehouses, streaming, real-time analytics, data mesh, data contracts, governance, and data quality.
- Preferred MLOps and classical ML experience with PyTorch, SageMaker, or MLflow.
- Preferred experience with fine-tuning, distillation, inference, or serving optimization.
- Preferred graph database experience with Neo4j or AWS Neptune.
- Preferred infrastructure-as-code experience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Open-source contributions or public writing on applied AI are preferred.
