Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the Azure infrastructure-as-code codebase, including reusable modules, standards, drift remediation, secure defaults, and policy-as-code.
- Design and maintain GitHub Actions workflows for infrastructure and application deployments across App Service, Functions, Logic Apps, and AKS.
- Operate multi-region Azure infrastructure, networking, edge security, identity, secrets, observability, monitoring, and disaster-recovery configurations.
- Manage container image pipelines, private-networked runners, Kubernetes environments, deployment safety gates, rollback paths, and environment consistency.
- Perform occasional Azure SQL and PostgreSQL provisioning, configuration, backup, replication, and performance-support tasks.
- Build automation with PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI, and Azure Automation runbooks, including AI-assisted and agentic workflows.
- Participate in incident triage, root-cause analysis, post-incident reviews, reliability improvements, and operational documentation.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to make infrastructure changes safe, repeatable, and observable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, with equivalent education and relevant experience considered.
- At least 3 years of experience in a DevOps, platform, or cloud infrastructure role focused primarily on Microsoft Azure.
- Production experience with Azure infrastructure-as-code, reusable modules, deployment and state management, and configuration-drift remediation.
- Hands-on experience building GitHub Actions workflows, including reusable workflows, environments, approvals, and OIDC authentication to Azure.
- Production experience with Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking and security fundamentals, including Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Private Endpoints, DNS, identities, RBAC, and Key Vault.
- Experience with Docker, Helm, Azure Container Registry, Kubernetes, and AKS upgrades.
- Proficiency with PowerShell, Bash, and Azure CLI.
- Experience with Azure Front Door, WAF, DNS, TLS certificate lifecycle, Service Bus, Event Grid, Logic Apps, and API Management.
- Observability experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and KQL, and Grafana.
- Working knowledge of Azure SQL, PostgreSQL Flexible Server, Redis, backups, geo-replication, basic performance tuning, and Elasticsearch.
- Demonstrated use of AI-assisted tooling or agentic workflows in daily engineering work.
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-400 are an asset.
