Responsibilities
- Create test cases, scenarios, and scripts from feature descriptions in JIRA and test management tools.
- Execute manual and automated functional, regression, ad hoc, and bug-verification test cases.
- Troubleshoot and debug automated test scripts and analyze results to identify root causes of anomalies and defects.
- Perform basic security and vulnerability testing, assist with penetration testing, document security findings, and support remediation tracking.
- Test web applications, APIs, internal systems, embedded controls, and applications across platforms and devices.
- Report and track defects, verify fixes, and perform follow-up work to resolve issues.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog activities, retrospectives, threat analysis, and security reviews.
- Identify quality assurance bottlenecks and propose improvements to automation scripts, frameworks, and testing processes.
- Coordinate with engineering, product development, Product Owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in software testing, preferably security testing for embedded controls and applications.
- Proficiency in embedded UI controls, API testing, and functional automation testing.
- Solid experience testing embedded systems across platforms and devices.
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and Python as the primary scripting language.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles, security testing concepts, and scripting.
- Familiarity with common security tools and communication protocols including CAN, MODBUS, Serial port, RS-232, and RS-485.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment and knowledge of software test life cycle processes and test methodologies.
- Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Cloud-native technologies/projects and HVAC product knowledge are preferred advantages.
- Candidates without a four-year degree are encouraged to apply; practical experience and relevant skills are valued.
