
Vice President, Mainframe Engineer II

Responsibilities
- Provide application software development and technical support for complex mainframe systems.
- Gather requirements and prepare BRD/SRD documentation, technical designs, flowcharts, layouts, and system documentation.
- Develop, test, review, integrate, deploy, troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain cross-functional application software.
- Coordinate coding, testing, implementation, documentation, software verification, quality assurance, and change-controlled deployments.
- Analyze and document data, workflows, logical processes, and system interfaces.
- Optimize DB2 SQL execution plans and maintain application performance and functionality.
- Support batch processing, financial product trade lifecycles, client service-level agreements, and existing platform enhancements.
- Collaborate with data engineers, business users, project managers, and other engineers while promoting reuse and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 7–9 years of software development experience is required, with securities or financial-services experience preferred.
- The posting also states a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the offered job or a related occupation.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, EZYTRIEVE, IBM DB2, VSAM, NDM/SFTP file transmissions, and object-oriented programming concepts.
- In-depth knowledge of IBM IDZ mainframe emulation software, IDZGit, ESP, and Control-M.
- Experience with database normalization, DB2 SQL performance remediation, Abstract Factory and Singleton design patterns, SSRS, and similar analytics tools.
- Experience managing the trade lifecycle of Unit Investment Trusts, mutual funds, or similar financial products.
- Ability to diagnose application issues, support client service-level agreements, design resilient software, and work with microservices and digital service delivery.
