Responsibilities
- Adapt YDB to leverage QLC NVMe drives, dual 800Gb/s network adapters, and BlueField DPUs.
- Maximize performance on HDDs and TLC NVMe devices.
- Reengineer YDB components with more efficient algorithms to solve complex system challenges.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure supporting object storage, file storage, block storage, distributed databases, and message brokering.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in C/C++ programming for highly loaded systems.
- Hands-on experience with perf, VTune, bpftrace, and gdb, including core dumps, flamegraphs, and sanitized builds.
- Experience developing high-performance, low-latency components.
- Understanding of CPU caches, modern CPU atomic operations, and NUMA architectures.
- Experience with on-disk data structures such as LSM trees and B+ trees is a plus.
- Knowledge of storage algorithms such as erasure coding and checksumming is a plus.
- Understanding of NVMe and HDD internals is a plus.
- Familiarity with the Linux kernel, SPDK, DPDK, libaio, and io_uring is a plus.
- Knowledge of IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, InfiniBand, RoCE, and RDMA is a plus.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Grafana is a plus.
- Track record of active participation in incident resolution is a plus.
- Experience designing production-grade distributed storage components is a plus.
- Knowledge of availability and durability calculations is a plus.
- Willingness to complete coding interviews.
