Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software, measurement systems, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and expected system behavior.
- Develop, maintain, debug, and enhance software applications, utilities, and interfaces for measurement systems and manufacturing platforms.
- Support software releases, updates, bug fixes, capability improvements, deployment, and sustainment across global manufacturing environments.
- Identify, document, and track defects with reproduction steps, logs, and supporting evidence.
- Validate connectivity and data flow among software, measurement platforms, instruments, databases, and related systems.
- Troubleshoot installation, startup, post-release, application, interface, and system connectivity issues.
- Prepare test records, development and release documents, work instructions, and other standardization materials.
- Implement long-term bug fixes and capability enhancements for measurement applications and system interfaces.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience for the Engineer II level.
- Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and QA fundamentals.
- Experience executing manual test cases and documenting results clearly.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and specifications.
- Basic understanding of relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server and SQL statements including Select, Insert, and Update.
- Exposure to C++, C#, VB.Net, Python, Java, or similar programming or scripting languages.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with data acquisition interfaces, API calls, SCPI or other communication protocols, automated testing, hardware-connected software, version control, defect tracking, RS232, USB, GPIB, Ethernet, manufacturing or industrial software, and cross-functional or global teams.
- Experience with measurement systems or fiber optic test environments is a plus.
