Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain complex Splunk SOAR automation solutions and Python playbooks integrating security platforms, APIs, and enterprise systems.
- Develop reusable YAML automation workflows and components in Ansible Automation Platform for provisioning, certificate management, and system deployment and configuration.
- Troubleshoot complex application, integration, API, authentication, and workflow issues as a senior technical escalation point.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship through code reviews, troubleshooting support, solution design guidance, and development best practices.
- Translate business and security requirements into technical designs and lead automation implementations for security initiatives and enterprise projects.
- Establish development standards covering source control, code quality, testing, error handling, logging, documentation, reusable components, and maintainability.
- Own automation solutions throughout their lifecycle, including production support, maintenance, transition to business-as-usual operations, and retirement or replacement.
- Develop cybersecurity playbooks, technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge-base articles for incident management, CSIRT, and security operations.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and provide advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and recurrence-prevention recommendations during major incidents.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and architecture teams to build scalable integrations and reusable security automation frameworks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Python development experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting production-level automation and integrations.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or a related technical discipline.
- Information Technology university degree or related college diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and 7+ years of relevant Information Technology experience.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, JSON, authentication mechanisms, enterprise integrations, and troubleshooting complex integration issues.
- Strong understanding of software development practices including Git, code reviews, testing, error handling, logging, debugging, and maintainable software design.
- Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose complex problems and provide technical direction during production and major incidents.
- Preferred experience with SOAR tools such as Splunk SOAR and Cortex XSOAR, Python, YAML, and Ansible development.
- Preferred professional designations or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC, AWS, or CompTIA Security+.
- Knowledge of endpoint detection and response, intrusion detection, cryptographic technologies, certificate management, email security, web content filtering, cloud security, and SIEM platforms.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, enterprise technology deployments, networking, firewalls, web application firewalls, intrusion prevention, cloud technologies, and disaster recovery.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to complete applicable background checks.
