Base Salary
$125k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and operate incremental, watermark-based ingestion from APIs, file-based S3 inboxes, and Postgres-to-ClickHouse replication.
- Develop typed data contracts, schema management, code generation, and consistent lakehouse datasets across tenants.
- Build batch-processing and event-driven accounting systems with clear operational failure reporting.
- Implement data correctness checks, ingestion observability, re-ingestion workflows, and traceability from ledger entries to raw events.
- Develop query patterns and materializations that support scalable reporting from board-level financial statements to individual transactions.
- Build data security controls including scoped queries and access-control lists.
- Collaborate with accounting module engineers, reporting teams, and AI-agent teams to shape data interfaces.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful experience with data-intensive systems.
- Experience building or operating production data pipelines, lakehouses, or warehouses, with knowledge of ETLs, idempotency, watermarks, and backfills.
- Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of columnar stores, partitioning, and query performance.
- Experience with a modern transformation or orchestration stack such as SQLMesh, dbt, Dagster, or Airflow.
- Strong general-purpose programming skills, especially TypeScript, with Python experience.
- Preferred experience with ClickHouse, Iceberg, Athena, multi-tenant data isolation, PII handling, SOC 2 or audit-driven controls, financial or accounting data, Temporal, or Inngest.
