Base Salary
$197k - $314k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services and event-driven systems supporting the data platform, including AI agent runtimes and API integrations.
- Build production RAG pipelines and tool-calling AI agents for data-product discovery, querying, and trust.
- Extend platform automation, command-line tooling, and shared utilities used by data teams.
- Set technical direction through system and API design, code review, and mentoring.
- Own service reliability, delivery, and cost efficiency.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production backend services at scale.
- Expert-level proficiency with Python, Go, or Java.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying production AI/LLM applications, including RAG pipelines and tool-calling agents.
- Deep experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized services.
- Strong knowledge of identity and security practices, including OAuth/OIDC, least-privilege access, and multi-tenant isolation.
- A related technical degree is required.
- Preferred experience includes dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Iceberg-based lakehouse architectures, Model Context Protocol, Slack-based conversational or agentic tools, production AI integration, and data observability or data-quality/governance tooling.
