Base Salary

$144k - $194k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and build node-level runtime infrastructure for Amazon EKS, including optimized Amazon Machine Images, GPU and accelerator integration, VM isolation runtimes, and node monitoring systems.
  • Own the operational health of EKS runtime infrastructure across millions of customer workloads, including on-call coverage, SEV response, customer escalations, and reliability improvements.
  • Lead end-to-end implementation of node runtime features spanning architecture, AMI pipelines, testing, deployment, and production validation.
  • Maintain and improve Kubernetes node components, container runtimes, kubelet configurations, device plugins, and Dynamic Resource Allocation drivers.
  • Qualify GPU and accelerator instance types, manage driver updates and multi-version support, and integrate GPU, EFA, and Neuron workloads.
  • Build monitoring, health checks, automated log collection, alarming, and self-healing capabilities for customer nodes.
  • Collaborate with EKS, EC2, NVIDIA, AWS AI/ML service, and open-source teams to deliver integrated capabilities.
  • Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, code reviews, systems programming guidance, and operational best practices.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems for reliability and scaling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Programming experience in at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or the containers ecosystem is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies is preferred.
  • Experience with Linux/RHEL, programming or scripting, and technologies such as Batch, VB, PowerShell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby, or PHP is preferred.
  • Production experience with CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture, virtualization technologies, distributed architecture, operational roles, or data analytics is preferred.
  • Open-source contributions, particularly in the Kubernetes or CNCF ecosystem, are preferred.
