Responsibilities
- Plan, design, develop, and test Android and iOS applications using React Native, JavaScript, iOS SDK, and Android SDK.
- Design and maintain custom mobile components and features integrated with Lightspeed’s core Dealer Management Solution.
- Keep dealer-facing inventory, service, parts, and CRM data accurate and synchronized in real time.
- Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and API-level tests.
- Collaborate with analysts, engineers, developers, project managers, product teams, and support teams to define and deliver mobile requirements.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and the mobile team’s transition to Agile practices.
- Diagnose and fix production bugs, proactively troubleshoot issues, and ship upgraded applications to the App Store and Google Play.
- Take ownership of mobile projects from requirements through release and stay current with mobile platforms, development tools, and network communications.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience with React Native or JavaScript, including production mobile applications and custom components.
- Understanding of software design, development, testing, data structures, algorithm analysis, number systems, and product development cycles.
- Experience identifying and troubleshooting bugs, working with APIs, and applying unit and integration testing practices.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, sprint ceremonies, and iterative delivery.
- Working knowledge of network communications, preferably OSI model technologies.
- Ability to learn new programming languages and adapt to new tools, with strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Preferred qualifications include production Android and iOS deployment experience, Jest, AWS architectures, SQL and complex joins, enterprise or service-oriented/microservice architectures, Kotlin or Java, Android Studio, Xcode, RESTful web services, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- A BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
