Base Salary

$168k - $227k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable distributed systems for AWS network virtualization infrastructure.
  • Lead technical design and architecture decisions for critical Hyperplane components.
  • Drive a greenfield rewrite of a core system.
  • Write and review code for distributed state-tracking components and debug concurrency issues.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, pairing, and hands-on guidance.
  • Collaborate with network engineering, security, and product management to define requirements and deliver customer-facing improvements.
  • Improve reliability, performance, and developer productivity, including through generative AI investments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
