Enterprise Technical Solutions Engineer

Base Salary
$118k - $143k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales and presales teams to develop customer-aligned solution proposals
- Serve as a technical resource on the Smartsheet API, Smartsheet Premium Applications, SSO/SAML, and third-party APIs
- Respond to technically complex Solutions Engineer Requests submitted through Salesforce
- Validate enterprise architectures and address API integrations, identity and access management, and advanced automation
- Build customer-facing proof of concepts and solution architecture diagrams
- Advise on capabilities and limitations of Smartsheet products used with other tools
- Support technical responses to customer requests for proposals
- Identify opportunities for new integrations and solutions that address customer gaps
- Translate enterprise customer pain points into actionable feedback for Product and Engineering
- Co-present technical topics including governance, integrations, security, and advanced automation at summits and customer events
- Create internal documentation, enablement materials, and technical gotcha guides
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Solutions Engineer or in a relevant SaaS or enterprise software role
- Basic knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud infrastructure technologies
- Ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences and varied customer personas
- Understanding of service and user management from an IT perspective
- Experience with APIs and authorization protocols such as OAuth2, SAML/SSO, and OpenID
- Experience with event-based workflow and automation concepts
- Proficiency with a programming language, with Python or NodeJS/JavaScript preferred
- Experience with GitHub and GitLab is a plus
- Familiarity with value-selling methodologies such as MEDDIC or SVS is a plus
- Experience leveraging and positioning AI during sales cycles
- Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity to resolve complex technical challenges
- Willingness to travel periodically based on customer and business needs
- Bachelor's degree in a BA/BS discipline preferred
