Base Salary

$148k - $237k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, document, and maintain SSD firmware source code in C, C++, and Rust.
  • Analyze and implement firmware according to internal, external, and customer specifications.
  • Perform unit and system-level testing, failure analysis, debugging, and product validation.
  • Develop low-level firmware, system architectures, operating-system integrations, and device architectures with hardware and ASIC design teams.
  • Work across firmware disciplines and the full SSD architecture.
  • Translate product requirements into development and validation plans.
  • Coordinate priorities and activities with engineering stakeholders to meet project milestones.
  • Lead the planning and technical aspects of firmware features through the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with local and distributed team members while contributing to an Agile/Kanban development culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of software or firmware development experience in embedded systems using C, C++, or Rust.
  • At least 8 years of embedded firmware development experience with a real-time operating system and hardware-software interactions.
  • Experience with firmware development environments, including compilers, debuggers, emulators, and toolchains.
  • Experience working on teams or feature development through multiple stages of a product lifecycle.
  • Preferred experience in SSDs, enterprise storage, or the storage industry.
  • Preferred experience applying cryptographic algorithms such as SHA2/3, HMAC, KDF, ECC, RSA, or ML-DSA.
  • Preferred experience with embedded development techniques, hardware and firmware tools, storage interfaces, security protocols, software development processes, continuous integration, project planning, and unit testing.
  • Strong communication, presentation, multitasking, analytical problem-solving, influence, leadership, and collaboration skills.
