Base Salary
$149k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive large, complex projects autonomously from technical design through launch.
- Tackle architecture challenges and apply architectural standards to new projects.
- Lead code reviews and documentation and resolve complex, high-risk bugs.
- Partner across engineering teams on company-wide initiatives spanning multiple projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and influence decision makers across the organization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and developing backend applications.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science.
- Experience with one or more prominent languages such as Java, Python, Kotlin, Go, or Ruby on Rails.
- Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS and hands-on experience with public cloud offerings.
- Fluency in at least one database technology, including relational databases such as Oracle or Postgres and/or NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or Cassandra.
- Experience building well-tested, highly scalable, performant microservices or other distributed systems.
- Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies such as XP or Scrum.
- Ability to evaluate trade-offs involving correctness, robustness, performance, space, and time.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing organizational decision makers.
