Application Security Engineer

Responsibilities
- Build and help implement the organization’s DevSecOps and Application Security strategy.
- Partner with engineering teams to operationalize DevSecOps and AppSec principles and processes.
- Assist application teams with onboarding to security tools and technologies and troubleshoot vendor and platform integration issues.
- Triage DAST, API security testing, and container scanning vulnerabilities and partner with teams on remediation.
- Deliver security dashboards, metrics, reporting, and application security documentation.
- Support audit processes and provide documentation to close audit findings.
- Continuously improve DevSecOps and Application Security processes and tools.
- Deliver project tasks and provide technical support through project completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field with six years of relevant experience.
- Experience developing software with technologies such as Java, .NET, Python, and Node.js.
- Experience with Azure and AWS cloud technologies.
- Extensive application security experience with SAST, DAST, SCA, API security, and container security scanning.
- Experience with software development, SDLC, application security tooling, modern CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.
- Current information security certification such as CISSP; Security+ or another cybersecurity certification is also noted.
- Experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Kubernetes is valuable.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment and management in hybrid cloud environments is beneficial.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum practices and with influencing development teams to adopt security best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication, prioritization, and project-management skills.
