Responsibilities
- Identify requirements gaps, ambiguities, edge cases, testability concerns, and quality risks before development begins.
- Define test objectives, scope, strategy, and approach with stakeholders.
- Write and maintain automated UI, API, contract, and integration test suites using TypeScript and Puppeteer or equivalent tools.
- Improve automation frameworks and expand test coverage across feature areas.
- Use AI tooling for test design, test data generation, edge-case identification, debugging, issue triage, and test-efficiency improvements while critically evaluating outputs.
- Run security testing tools and accessibility checks, interpret findings, and perform manual keyboard, contrast, and screen-reader validation.
- Maintain CI/CD quality gates, ensure automated suites run reliably on every build, and perform post-deployment validation using production alerts and dashboards.
- Document, investigate, classify, and verify software defects with development teams.
- Track and report defect escape rate, test coverage, automation pass rates, and customer-impact-oriented quality findings.
- Participate in planning, refinement, stand-ups, and cross-functional quality discussions with product managers, developers, and DevOps.
- Support onboarding and knowledge sharing for junior QA team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 3–8 years of experience in software quality engineering.
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript, Puppeteer, and third-party API integration.
- Experience writing automated tests across UI, API, contract, and integration layers.
- Experience in CI/CD environments, including maintaining quality gates and reading pipeline output.
- Working knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and experience running security testing tools.
- Experience with accessibility tooling and manual accessibility validation techniques.
- Understanding of SDLC, STLC, and agile/scrum methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate quality risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated use of AI tooling for test design, data generation, or debugging.
- Preferred experience with cross-browser and cross-platform testing, mentoring or supporting junior QA engineers, observability tooling, and production monitoring dashboards.
- ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst or Technical Test Analyst certification is strongly recommended; Postman API, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, ISTQB Specialist AI Testing, or Security Tester certifications are valued.
