Responsibilities
- Design, build, integrate, field, and sustain secure software for USPACOM J32 joint targeting and fires-planning workflows.
- Develop operator-facing Target-Effect Pairing applications and backend services for orchestration, recommendations, adjudication, approvals, deconfliction, and force assignment.
- Implement explainable human-machine teaming, traceable auditability, role- and attribute-based access controls, secure data handling, and tamper-evident audit capabilities.
- Integrate Government-designated systems, including Maven Smart System, object-management systems, simulation services, and command-and-control interfaces.
- Create automated unit, integration, regression, performance, and security tests suitable for Government acceptance and independent test and evaluation.
- Collaborate with operators, subject matter experts, data engineers, security teams, and Government system owners through demonstrations, technical reviews, and fielding activities.
- Produce maintainable code, API documentation, architecture decision records, release notes, runbooks, and transition materials.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience delivering complex, data-intensive applications.
- Strong experience with modern front-end frameworks, backend services, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, relational or document databases, and automated testing.
- Experience building workflow, mission-planning, decision-support, command-and-control, or operational intelligence applications.
- Experience with data provenance, audit logging, workflow state management, access controls, and configuration or model versioning.
- Familiarity with containerized deployments, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, observability, and secure cloud or on-premises environments.
- Ability to translate complex operational and doctrinal processes into usable, explainable software and collaborate with operational users through iterative demonstrations.
- Understanding of human-centered design for high-consequence workflows where recommendations are transparent, reviewable, and reversible.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical decisions to operational and Government stakeholders.
- Eligibility for TS/SCI clearance; an active clearance is strongly preferred.
- Ability to support on-site engagement with USPACOM J32 operators as mission needs require.
- Desired qualifications include experience with joint targeting, Joint Fires, weaponeering, target-effect pairing, force assignment, course-of-action analysis, DoD classified environments, restricted networks, Maven Smart System, operational data repositories, simulation engines, optimization or recommendation systems, independent testing and evaluation, and Government production deployments.
