Responsibilities
- Design and build traffic management control systems using performance-based and cost-based routing strategies.
- Analyze and troubleshoot the performance of the global TikTok user routing layer.
- Support ByteDance internal and external services with public internet topology and connectivity.
- Help operate and improve traffic management across edge network points of presence and uplink providers.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, or a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
- Experience with DNS services and IPDB.
- Knowledge of BGP, IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, and QUIC.
- Experience with ping, mtr, and traceroute.
- Experience with SNMP, sFlow, and NetFlow networking metrics.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience with Go or scripting in Shell and Python.
- Preferred: experience with Kubernetes and knowledge of the internet OSI model.
- Preferred: experience with AI agents.
