Base Salary
$179k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Deliver robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
- Use Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
- Provide technical leadership across engineering teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify improvement opportunities, reduce technical debt, and optimize distributed-system performance.
- Influence long-term technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools and practices.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to internal and external technology communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: 3+ years with databases and database management systems, and 3+ years with cloud technologies.
- Preferred: 4+ years contributing to open source frameworks and 3+ years with front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks.
- Preferred: 4+ years creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs.
- Preferred: 3+ years with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, and Git-based version-control systems.
- Preferred: 3+ years troubleshooting cloud environments and experience with AI-based coding tools and interactive AI productivity tooling.
- Preferred: at least 1 year mentoring engineers, driving professional development, and using observability to optimize distributed-system performance.
- Preferred: experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts, large-scale technical initiatives, and coding-standard or design-pattern adoption.
