Responsibilities
- Build and operate GCP cloud infrastructure for games and backend services, including networking, compute, storage, access management, managed services, hosting, content delivery, and cost planning.
- Automate infrastructure setup, configuration, and maintenance using Terraform, scripts, reusable workflows, version control, and code review.
- Own CI/CD pipelines, build servers, deployment infrastructure, automated checks, credential management, release approvals, artifact handling, and rollback procedures.
- Define monitoring, alerting, escalation, and automated reporting for availability, performance, incidents, capacity, and cost.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, improve service reliability, participate in on-call and launch coverage, and test backup, recovery, capacity, and failure scenarios.
- Support security and privacy controls involving access, credentials, data protection, production changes, and security fixes.
- Build and deploy full-stack integrations and operational tools connecting game clients and web applications to backend APIs, authentication, telemetry, and content services.
- Contribute to publishing platforms, operational dashboards, live operations tools, game websites, testing, hosting, and deployment.
- Guide external studios and internal teams on technical designs, hosting, backend, monitoring, operational handoffs, risks, infrastructure priorities, and delivery blockers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering supporting production services through releases, growth, and incidents.
- Strong production experience with Google Cloud Platform, including networking, compute, storage, access management, and managed services.
- Practical Terraform experience and strong scripting or programming skills with disciplined version control and code review practices.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or similar tools, including build workers, automated testing, artifact storage, secrets, release workflows, and rollback workflows.
- Experience using logs, metrics, and traces for diagnosis and designing reliable alerting and automated reporting.
- Ability to test recovery and assess capacity, performance, reliability, and cost together.
- Working knowledge of web infrastructure including CDNs, DNS, TLS, load balancing, and caching.
- Strong knowledge of full-stack development and deployment, including front-end and back-end application structure, API design, automated testing, environment configuration, containerized deployment, and safe rollout strategies.
- Experience coordinating technical planning, infrastructure requirements, and engineering standards with external development partners or vendors.
- Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience with React, Retool, AWS, containers, serverless services, live games, Nakama, PlayFab, Firebase, Linux, macOS, Unity, Unreal, mobile build and signing workflows, BigQuery, cloud data platforms, and collaboration with data engineers.
