Base Salary
$122k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Prototype, evaluate, and iterate on self-driving algorithms using real-world data and simulations.
- Formulate research-driven solutions for perception, motion forecasting, planning, traffic modeling, and sensor simulation.
- Support deployment and integration of research solutions into production self-driving systems.
- Write high-quality, well-structured, efficient, and tested code.
- Collaborate with research, platform, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Work with large datasets and the Waabi World high-fidelity simulator.
- Track advances in AI, machine learning, computer vision, and self-driving technology and apply relevant research insights.
- Contribute research findings to conferences and Waabi’s blog.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, machine learning, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience working on applied research projects.
- Strong understanding of computing fundamentals, including code efficiency.
- Proficiency in Python and experience writing high-quality, well-structured, tested code.
- Comfort working with large datasets for machine learning applications.
- Preferred: Master’s or PhD in machine learning, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: Experience shipping machine learning features or models into production.
- Preferred: Strong knowledge of machine learning literature and current techniques.
- Preferred: Self-driving or related industry experience.
- Preferred: Publications in relevant AI, machine learning, computer vision, or self-driving venues.
- Preferred: Experience collaborating with platform and research teams to implement and validate deep learning models.
- Preferred: Experience with concurrent, parallel, and distributed computing.
- Preferred: Proficiency in PyTorch, Rust, C++, and/or CUDA.
