Responsibilities
- Own platform reliability outcomes across AWS, including availability, latency, resiliency, and operational readiness.
- Design and implement platform foundations for IAM, networking, compute, deployment patterns, and safety guardrails.
- Build infrastructure automation with Terraform and CI/CD workflows to improve repeatability and reduce manual work.
- Lead platform-level incident response through mitigation, root cause analysis, and permanent fixes.
- Improve observability through metrics, logs, traces, SLOs, and actionable alert design.
- Partner with engineering teams on service design, deployment safety, runtime behavior, reviews, and mentoring.
- Document and standardize platform patterns, runbooks, and decision records.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in SRE, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a similar field.
- Strong production experience operating services in AWS.
- Strong Linux fundamentals and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience building infrastructure automation with Infrastructure as Code; Terraform is strongly preferred.
- Fluency in at least one automation language such as Python or Go.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: experience with multi-account AWS environments, governance controls, and secure-by-default patterns.
- Preferred: familiarity with Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate, or other production orchestration platforms.
- Preferred: experience with SLO-based reliability, alert tuning, operational noise reduction, mentoring, or cross-team reliability leadership.
