Base Salary
$125k - $167k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, development, and maintenance of backend and frontend test automation frameworks for the fleet operations platform.
- Design and execute automated test suites for backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and frontend UI workflows.
- Lead integration testing for third-party APIs and internal services across fleet management, dispatching, and monitoring systems.
- Perform root-cause analysis on test failures and system defects and drive resolution across backend and frontend systems.
- Establish automated quality gates within CI/CD pipelines and define test strategies with engineering and product teams.
- Lead, mentor, and conduct code reviews for one automation test engineer.
- Maintain documentation, test plans, and operational frameworks for the automation testing process.
- Support after-hours validation, release activities, occasional domestic travel, and on-site testing or operational deployments as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of experience in software QA or test automation, emphasizing backend and API testing.
- Hands-on proficiency in Python and Go for backend test automation and JavaScript for frontend automation.
- Experience designing and building automation frameworks from the ground up for complex, distributed systems.
- Experience with REST and gRPC API testing, service integration validation, and data pipeline verification.
- Experience integrating automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines for production software releases.
- Ability to lead technical efforts autonomously, mentor engineers, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to report technical findings.
- Willingness to learn new tools and technologies and support flexible schedules, late meetings, night shifts, or urgent validation activities.
- Preferred experience with autonomous vehicle fleet monitoring, dispatching, fleet management, Uber API or similar transportation platform integrations, cloud telemetry systems, AV data pipelines, and cross-site or global engineering organizations.
- A master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
