Base Salary
$147k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve stable, documented platform APIs for agent registration, authentication, secrets, deployment, runtime, events, discovery, and evaluation.
- Build observability capabilities including logs, conversation history, execution traces, metrics, and failure reporting.
- Develop evaluation tools for defining and running evaluations, comparing versions, tracking quality, and identifying regressions.
- Build and operate identity, authorization, runtime orchestration, deployment, event-routing, and agent-registry services.
- Build and operate production AI agents, including prompt and tool design, quality and cost tuning, and ongoing reliability.
- Turn recurring customer-work patterns into platform features and own the end-to-end developer experience through SDKs, CLI tools, documentation, examples, and local development workflows.
- Collaborate with front-end, product, research, partnerships, and customers, including regular user engagement and occasional travel.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience spanning web services, distributed systems, data pipelines, and cloud tooling.
- Track record of shipping products to external users and owning them in production.
- Strong opinions about API design with a preference for simple designs over clever ones.
- Willingness to write and maintain documentation as part of the engineering work.
- Fluency with modern AI tools and ability to adapt to evolving LLMs and agent architectures.
- Clear technical communication with engineers and non-engineers.
- Preferred experience includes developer platforms, SDKs, public APIs, production LLM agents, tool use, orchestration, sandboxing, cost and latency tuning, evaluation or experimentation systems, growth-stage companies, and public technical work.
